I have been experienced majorly in GIS and Remote Sensing, but I wouldn't say I like it as much as I should.

Currently, I am pursuing my PhD at Griffith University, located on the Gold Coast Campus. I am affiliated with the Cities Research Institute (CRI) and the School of Environment and Built Environment (EBE). My research centres around the enhancement of urban flood resilience, specifically exploring the effectiveness of Nature-based and Hybrid (Nb&H) solutions in response to the impacts of climate change.

I am a faculty member (on leave) of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning (URP), Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET), Khulna-9203, Bangladesh.

Previously, I was employed as a GIS and RS Specialist at the Institute of Water Modelling (IWM). I was an Adjunct Faculty of the Public Health Department under the Faculty of Science & Engineering, at ASA University Bangladesh (ASAUB) as well.

I did my post-graduation in Urban and Regional Planning (MURP) from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka in 2012, where my research topic was "A Study on Land Use Policies of Khulna Structure Plan 2000-2020 in the Light of Climate Change Induced Flood Scenario". I graduated also in Urban and Regional Planning (BURP) in the same department from the same university in 2007 with research titled "Localization of Socio-economic Facilities of Narsingdi District: An Approach to Regional Growth Analysis".

I have more than 8 years of professional experience in the fields of Urban Planning, GIS & Remote Sensing, and climate change. I started my career as a GIS analyst at Golden Harvest Scankort GIS Ltd. in 2007 and later on I joined in Autodesk Bangladesh: Win-Win Infosys Ltd. as an instructor of AutoCAD Map 3D & Civil 3D in the same year. Afterwards, I switched to Data Experts (Pvt.) Limited (datEx) in 2008 was involved as an Assistant Urban Planner & GIS Specialist in two large projects. Detail Area Plan (DAP) followed by Dhaka Metropolitan Development Plan (DMDP) for Dhaka Metropolitan City & Pourashava Master Plan (a project of LGED) for 2 years. I joined IWM in November 2009 as a Junior GIS and Remote Sensing Specialist.

I am married to Dr. Tahmida Khanom (https://www.drtkhanom.com.bd & https://www.facebook.com/drtkhanom/ ). Together, we are blessed with two beautiful daughters, Erena Esraz Proteety and Ehana Esraz Promity. They are the shining stars that illuminate our lives with love and laughter.

A proactive, enthusiastic, and competent person who always strives to achieve a high standard in whatever is undertaken. Along with research and teaching, I have gained a variety of skills, especially in GIS and Remote Sensing Applications in Water and Environment, Climate Change, Urban Planning, etc., and can work effectively alone or as part of a team. Is always looking to apply existing skills and develop further. A good team leader, who leads, motivates, oversees, and encourages colleagues to achieve outcomes. Has creative ideas and problem-solving talents.
